Mex is a bona fide vinyl junkie - the kind of junkie that doesn't want help. He's happiest when he's at one with his drug of choice. In the mid-nineties he fed his addiction by working in record shops, DJing hip hop and funk breaks at seminal Brighton night Knowledge Of Self, warming up for the likes of OC, Jurassic 5 and Big L. |

This man is Mr Convenience. He was born in 1987, and grew up in Penzance, Cornwall. He soon followed in the footsteps of his older brother, MC Azreal, and began rapping at the age of fourteen, and progressed to playing at local night spots with the live Band; Carpe Diem. After the band split, along with MC Lexis and DJs Teretz, Pastyfari and Louis Jamaz together they formed the Beatechs. |

Apparently grime is dead (this is what they say, they being the industry folk) and Hip Hop CDs just aren’t selling like they used to (even the American acts are struggling to shift the units). 17 years after the release of Soul II Soul's ground-breaking 'Club Classics Vol. 1' album, group leader Jazzie B regaled an audience of music industry personnel and fans with stories about his career and the making of the chart-topping album. 'Club Classics Vol. 1' was the subject of the Black Music Congress (BMC) organised Trailblazing British Black Music Album Anatomy, which took place on Thursday at the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) office in London. |

Smife was born Justin Smith Uzomba to Nigerian parents on May 22nd 1984 in Hackney, East London. He was raised partly in Stoke Newington, North London, but since 10 years old hes been living in De Beauvoir Town with both parents and 3 of 4 sisters.

What do you know about Sacramento, California? You might think it's a city of overall-wearing, cow-tipping, country bumpkins that ride around on tractors all day. Wrong. Although Sacramento lacks the glitz of its southern hemisphere, Los Angeles, it still has its share of sunshine, beautiful people and good vibrations. It even has an emerging hip-hop scene.
